2026 Last Ring Notifications

Paul Weamire #2746, retired Seattle police officer, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at 87 years of age. Paul was hired on August 14,1967 and retired after 30 years of service on June 8, 1998. Per the families wishes, there will be no service.

Carl Christensen #2480, retired Seattle police officer, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 80 years of age. Carl was hired on November 27, 1967, and retired after 13 years of service on March 6, 1979.

Patrick Dempsey #2219, retired Seattle police detective, passed away Saturday, February 7th, at 92 years of age. Pat was hired on February 21, 1962, and retired after 18 years of service on November 19, 1980.

Leroy Reed #1691, retired Seattle police sergeant, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 94 years of age. Leroy was hired on March 13, 1956, and retired after 25 years of service on December 31, 1981. He then went to work as the public information officer for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office. On August 1, 1984, Leroy was promoted to communications manager until his appointment as the Undersheriff on January 1, 1988. Leroy retired after 38 years of service on December 30,1994.

Pat Wendt “PK” #4569, retired parking enforcement officer passed away on Friday, January 30th. Pat was hired on April 8, 1981, and retired on April 8, 2009, after 28 years of service. Pat was known not only for her sense of humor but her artistic abilities and gentle nature. She took great pride in her work and was a mentor to many.

William Kroon #1840, retired Seattle police lieutenant, passed away Thursday, January 29th at 94 years of age. Bill was hired on March 10, 1958, and retired after 24 years of service on December 31, 1982.

Ronald Sylve #3537, retired Seattle police lieutenant, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 79 years of age. Ron was hired on July 7, 1970, and retired after 31 years of service on November 9, 2001.

Gary Mikelson #3310 served with the Seattle Police Department after being hired on January 2, 1970. He resigned on March 17, 1978, to continue his law enforcement career with the Port Townsend Police Department, where he served until his retirement in 1992. Gary passed away on January 27, 2026 at 78 years of age. His career reflects a strong and lasting commitment to law enforcement and public service.

John L. Sullivan #1346, retired Seattle detective, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 96 years of age. John was hired on April 24, 1952, and retired after 25 years of service on July 11, 1977.

Duane Chinn #4859, retired Seattle police officer, passed away on January 11, 2026 at sixty-eight years of age after a battle with cancer. Duane was hired on January 29, 1985 and retired after thirty years of service on May 31, 2015.
