Seattle Police Pension Board – Member-Elected Trustee Election

The Seattle Police Pension Fund announces the upcoming nomination and election process for one Member-Elected Trustee position on the Seattle Police Pension Board, in accordance with RCW 41.26.010.

Nomination Period

April 15, 2026, through May 15, 2026

Election Period (By Mail Ballot)

May 20, 2026, through June 22, 2026

The nomination period for one Member-Elected Trustee position will officially open on April 15, 2026. The term for this position on the Seattle Police Pension Board and LEOFF 1 Disability Board will run from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

Nomination ballots have been mailed to all LEOFF1 members, and you should receive them by April 15, 2026. Filing closes on May 15, 2026, at the close of business.

Eligible LEOFF 1 and Pre-LEOFF active or retired sworn members of the Seattle Police Department may submit nominations during the nomination period. All nomination forms must be fully completed, properly endorsed by at least five members of the fund, and received by the Pension Office no later than May 15, 2026, to be considered valid.

Candidates must be willing and able to undertake complex, confidential, and fiduciary responsibilities. These duties include attending and participating in at least one business meeting per quarter, as well as fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned by the Board. No compensation is provided for service on the Pension Board.

Nomination forms will be mailed and are available through the Seattle Police Pension Fund Office. If you did not receive a form or wish to obtain one, please contact the office during the nomination period.

Following the close of the nomination period, Election ballots will be mailed to eligible members by May 20, 2026.  Completed ballots must be returned and received by June 22, 2026.
