Seattle Police Pension Board Nominations Open

This is to inform you that the nomination period for one elected Trustee position on the Seattle Police Pension Board is officially open and will remain so until May 22, 2025. This announcement is made in accordance with RCW 41.26.010. The term for the Trustee position on the Seattle Police Relief and Pension and LEOFF 1 Disability Board will run from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028.
 
Eligibility is limited to active duty or retired sworn members of the Seattle Police Department and the Seattle Police Relief and Pension Fund who are classified as LEOFF 1 or Pre-LEOFF members. Candidates must be willing and able to undertake complex, confidential, and fiduciary responsibilities, which include attending and participating in at least one business meeting per quarter, in addition to other tasks assigned by the Board. Please note that no compensation will be provided for serving on the Pension Board.
 
On Monday, April 21, 2025, all LEOFF 1 members were mailed a nomination form. If you did not receive a nomination form and wish to stand for nomination and election, you can obtain a nomination form by contacting the Pension Office at 206-348-8018, via fax at 206-470-6900, or by email at stephanie.coleman@seattle.gov throughout the nomination period.
 
Completed nomination forms must be properly endorsed by at least five members of the fund and returned to the Seattle Police Pension Office, postmarked by or on Thursday, May 22, 2025, to be considered valid.
 
The election will be conducted via U.S. Mail, and a ballot will be mailed to you. Voting will be held between June 2, 2025, and June 26, 2025. All ballots must be returned to the address specified on the ballot form by Thursday, June 26, 2025.
